Charles “Choz” Belen (born May 19, 1983) is a filipino-american motion graphics artist, sound fx designer, director, producer and writer.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Choz graduated from the School of Visual Arts, New York City in 2006 with a BFA in Computer Art. He would also go on to win an award his senior year for Best Visual FX in Dynamic Media at SVA for his thesis: Moshn. After college, he was selected by the American Pavilion as 1 of 16 students from around the world to attend the L.A. Intensive Filmmakers Program in Los Angeles, California. The opportunity lead to an internship and eventual job in the cutting room at Warner Bros. Studios with Silver Pictures, working alongside legendary oscar nominated editor Stuart Baird on such movies as Whiteout, Orphan and The Factory.

After wrapping up his contract with Warner Bros. Choz moved back to NYC in 2009 to work as a freelance artist for various production studios. During those next few years, Choz developed his signature motion comic style of animation which he used to produce music videos for hip hop artists Deep Foundation and Jay Legaspi (Sleep), International superstars: Far East Movement (I Party), electronic house DJ’s Justin Michael & Kemal Golden and Maxim’s Hometown Hottie winning supermodel: Melanie Iglesias (Her World Goes On). His music videos caught the attention of ChannelAPA‘s managing director/producer/writer Steve Nguyen, whom Choz would go on to collaborate with and produce the award-winning short animated film: Hibakusha.

In 2012, Choz and Steve started their own production company: Studio APA.
